Chief Innovation & Strategy Officers

Are you looking for help solving a current institutional problem? Would you like your organization to have the tools to internally solve problems as they arise? In both cases, we can help.

The Simplexity Method

Do you have a problem with multiple possible solutions, and you’re not sure which path to take?  Or do you know which path you’d like to take, but can’t get consensus from key stakeholders? Do you feel isolated, expected to have all the answers?  We can help by utilizing the Simplexity Method.

The Simplexity Method is an eight-step methodology that systematically moves you from identifying the problem, to putting a solution into action. At the beginning of the process we create a collaborative set of ground rules to create a safe space for everyone to participate. The method allows people to get everything out on the table: facts, beliefs, worries, hesitations, in a safe environment, where they are made part of the problem definition. The method is people-centered, effective, takes the guesswork out of crafting problem-solving solutions, and builds consensus along the way.

I have seven years of experience using this methodology, and have used it to: save $2 million in the cost of delivering online learning for a community college, revamp the marketing process for a drug that resulted in the largest first-day sales in the history of the company, help establish a new college within a small private liberal arts college, and write strategic plans for three colleges and three non-profit organizations. I can use this methodology to help you solve your problem.

Services We Offer

As a trained Simplexity Method facilitator, and a trainer of Simplexity Method facilitators, I can offer two distinct paths of service for your organization:

  1. I can use the Simplexity Method to help you solve a current problem
  2. I can train future Simplexity facilitators within your organization – giving you the tools to solve problems as they arise.

Monarch Engagement Process

  1. A free 30-minute conversation about your challenge, to ensure that I can add value and help you.
  2. We will develop a proposal, grounded in your budget, to determine what we can do together to solve your problem.  We develop clear timelines and deliverables.
  3. We review the written proposal with you in person.
  4. Once you accept the proposal, we provide project updates on an agreed upon cadence. We closely coordinate delivery of all sessions with you.
  5. You will receive deliverables and participate in session discussions throughout the project. We leave every session with an action plan.
  6. We continue to be in relationship, and we celebrate your future successes with you!

What Success Looks Like

  • You will have an action plan for implementing the solution that we co-design.
  • You will have confidence that you have looked at the problem for a variety of angles and are tackling the next most important thing.
  • Your team will be able to articulate why the chosen path was taken.
  • Your team will feel empowered and included as they have been part of the process of finding a solution.
  • You will have gained buy-in from your stakeholders by engaging them in the process.
  • If you choose to train your leadership, you will become an organization which is a problem-solving machine!
